I recently had my eGolf broken into and the infotainment system stolen, together with the SD Card unit from inside the glove compartment.
When I picked it up from repair I noticed the sat nav wasn't working (message on screen saying 'missing data' or something along those lines).
The repair shop said they were waiting for VW to send out an SD Card which holds the data and that they couldn't give me an estimated delivery time.
It's been two weeks now and I've called them back but they still haven't got a date from VW.
Is this normal? I'm happy to wait a few more weeks as long as that is the reason there is no sat nav.
Also do all infotainment systems have the ability for sat nav?
