wheel wax

the owner manual does say to wax your rims way more frequently than I would think.
However has anyone tried to do so? My 2017 wheels are in great shape so I wonder is a paste wax like carnauba the best long lasting choice?
A search in all forums for wheel wax came up with nothing with both those words in it

I've had ceramic coating applied to both the body and rims of my cars. Much better than applying wax alone.
