Dear Community,

my girlfriend recently purchased 2014 e-Golf and we have a problem with the infotainment system not producing any sound for the radio (FM, AM, aux, BT).

I tried to update the software from the current MHIG_EU_VW_P1529 using https://mib-helper.com's suggestion to MHIG_EU_VW_K1550, however I got this error message;

Looking at the metainfo txt file, I can not find my version in the supported trains list. I assume that MHIG_EU_VW_K1550 is the wrong version to update for me.

Can someone please help me how to proceed?

Thank you

Updating the radio firmware is not going to resolve that.

The MIB helper site is a good resource, but it's not error free. If you really want to update the firmware properly you need a shop with access to ODIS or similar tools (like VCP). But I really doubt a firmware update will resolve an audio output problem that developed all of a sudden.

well we bought it like that. The seller promised to fix it, but we got some issues with him... The sound comes back if I long press Menu / Update / SD Card, then just cancel the process.

You have an old MIB1 unit and I don't think a lot of those firmwares are found on the mibsolution site. If you still want to go the firmware update route you need to find a shop with the right scan tool to check for firmware updates from the VW servers for your unit.

I see 2 different files on the mibsolution site, I guess try both?

To add, you can replace the 'metainfo2.txt' file with the one on the mibsolution site. However, take note of this part of the file with the warning:
