Just hit 221,000 miles on my 2017 e golf starting to show signs of battery wear, it only charges to about 95-98 full now and freeway driving I use a mile for every 1/2 mile driven roughly my commute is 62 miles one way and I am getting to work with 12-22 miles left on average, I have a 1,000 ft pass to climb on my way to work which drains the miles but I make up some going downhill, I am hoping it lasts the rest of the year then I retire. anyone have any Ideas as to get a few more miles?

Nice job! At this point all you can do is make the car more efficient: wash car more often, use high efficiency tires (OEM tires are best), drive in ECO mode, preheat car while plugged into EVSE prior to driving, slow down a bit, if possible.

Yes, I wash her once a week, I try to stay behind slow trucks, I used to hate traffic but now its my friend, I also use the shifter modes a lot, coming downhill I will move the gearshift to the left to regenerate more, I dont run the heater at all, sometimes the seat warmer , when you mention preheat the car are you talking about the cabin?

Yes - warm cabin on AC power. E-Golf does not offer pack heating except through charging’s natural joule heating.

221K miles? That’s great! That’s the most I’ve heard of ( though my hearing isn’t all that great…)
