Just bought a new e-Golf. Trying to determine the most essential accessories to buy.
What essential accessories are you happy with? Floor mats, cargo liners, splash guards, anything else?

Splash Guard Kit - Black NPN075028 - https://parts.vw.com/p/Volkswagen__/Splash-Guard-Kit---Black/69429271/NPN075028.html
Rubber Floor Mats - European Style - Black 5GE061500B041 https://parts.vw.com/p/Volkswagen__...ean-Style---Black/63615028/5GE061500B041.html
MuddyBuddy® - Trunk Liner - Black 5G0061161A https://parts.vw.com/p/Volkswagen__/63614998/5G0061161A.html

Anyone know if there's a black colored version of the below?
Rear Bumper Protection Plate - Brushed Aluminum 5G0061195B https://parts.vw.com/p/Volkswagen__...e---Brushed-Aluminum/69429268/5G0061195B.html

I have been looking at the floor mats and trunk liners, but have held off on my purchase for a couple of reasons. I am interested in a few things:

1) Do the floormats have edge lip on them? I have been very happy with the Monster rubber mats that came with my Tiguan. They are deep enough to retain dirt/rocks/leaves. The eGolf mats don't look nearly as deep. I don't want to buy a mat where the mud just slides off to edge of the rubber mat.
As I understand it the VW floor mats are the only option. The battery underneath the seat creates a different floormat shape than the Golf/GTI.

2) I had the weathertech liner in the trunk of my Audi and liked it. The one for the Golf sits down beneath the false floor. The eGolf has the molding for the spare tire, but no spare tire. I am interested to know if this liner sits properly given the uneven shape of the floor beneath it.

The TuxMat for the E-Golf is supposedly the best floor mats, with the most coverage of the foot wells. The rear is a single piece that also covers the battery hump. The factory ones are just rubber versions of your standard carpeted mats, with no lip to catch debris.

The Muddy Buddy / Weathertech trunk mat (they're the same thing) is designed for the trunk floor in the lower position, and includes the lip to catch debris. The only difference between the two is one has a "Muddy Buddy by Weathertech" label vs. a "Weathertech" label.

For my 2018 SEL, I got the e-Golf OEM floor mats, and they fit perfectly. Very happy with them.

I also got the WeatherTech cargo liner rather than the VW one because it has a "lip" around the edge, and it also fits perfectly:

Thanks for sharing this link. Seems like a really good one, but it's almost $200 :(
The OEM mats sell for less than $70 (after discounts)

In that case, I wonder if the OEM floor mats are just comparable to WeatherTech's TrimToFit floor mats that are available in Costco (costs $29)
From WeatherTech's website..."For the best possible fit we recommend using your existing vehicle’s carpet map as a template, and using a standard pair of scissors"

Thanks for your response. This seems very similar to the OEM cargo liner - https://parts.vw.com/p/Volkswagen__/63614998/5G0061161A.html

Looks like there's a 15% mail-in rebate on VW OEM accessories - https://www.vwserviceandparts.com/vw-accessory-rebate/
In addition, many dealers seem to be discounting the accessories by more than 30%. Both of these combined make it less appealing to buy non-OEM accessories at this time?

Check https://parts.vw.com/ to find the pricing of accessories at various VW dealerships. Most of the dealership seem to offer shipping services.

You can also pick it up from the dealer for free. That's what I chose when I bought the mud flaps and sunscreen.
I like the factory carpeted floor mats but will likely get a trunk liner.

Here's the sunscreen. Fits well and not too bad to roll up though the velcro should have been on the other side.

Free when you bought the car? My purchase price was deeply discounted, and there wasn't much room for freebies :(

No, I meant pay for it online but pick it up at your local dealer for free - no shipping charges.

Got it. Sorry, misread your earlier message. My local dealers is just offering only a 10% discount. Other dealers are offering 30-40% discount (plus no sales tax). Depending on how many items one buys - shipping charges may be ok.

I can not recommend the Weathertech mats and trunk liner highly enough.

The fit is perfect, and the big lip on the mats and trunk liner catches everything.

I don’t have the rear floor liners (no kids, rarely any rear passengers) but the ones I have were well worth the somewhat steep price.

Looking for a liner for the trunk that extends out when the back seats are down. Any suggestions?

If your still looking for a bumper protector, Rearguards sell one for the Golf.

Further back there was the mention that the VW muddy buddy trunk liner was the same as the Weathertech. Do you know if that's true? Also it looks like it only fits after the trunk spare tire cover is removed? (or does it fit on top?)

Thinking of getting rubber mats too. Need to start taking the eGolf to the ranch which out here is just dust and sand which will wreck the carpet pretty quick.

The Muddy Buddy trunk liner is the same as Weathertech. In fact, it says Muddy Buddy by Weathertech on the label. The liner fits when the trunk floor is in the lower position.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. I'll pick up the trunk liner for sure. WIsh I had bought it at the same time as the mud flaps and sunshade to take advantage of the additional rebate :(

Now I'm not so sure I want the trunk tray. I like having stuff where the spare tire would normally go - like the level 1 charger that comes with the car, the first aid kit, other things I don't need to access quickly. Weathertech confirmed the photo on their website is wrong which shows it on top of the spare cover, which it really doesn't. Here's the fitment photo they sent me. One thing interesting is the pocket space in the back left corner of the trunk. My US spec 2019 eGolf doesn't have that.

Weathertech did send me photos of their floor mats, which at first looked good but the more I looked at them the more I didn't like the fitment on the sides. Going to look into the Tuxmat version instead.
