Well, add me in as a new owner.... 2015 e-Golf SEL.... California, under $27,700 out the door. I did get a $2000 VW Owners Loyalty discount in there. White with Camel interior. Lot's to learn about the car like how many kilowatts used per tick on the fuel gauge. Gauge said about 4.1 miles per kW, for the drive home. Lights on, vent on, everything else off.

Congrats, that's a good deal. Assuming you qualify for the full $7500 Federal Tax Credit, that's $17,700 total net out of pocket.

Hopefully, yes, I qualify. I've bought this as an experiment, more than anything else. Freaks me out to see the fuel gauge (battery state of charge) move down as fast as it does. 37 miles from the dealership to home sucked about 50% of the battery, at 65 mph. May 2015 build, I believe.

Wondering what I need to know about software reflashes or updates from the more experienced among you.

Does anyone run the air pressure in their tires a little bit on the high side? This thing drives stiff, compared to how plush the Passat TDI SE is. The young folks would say my passat "wallows" . No worries, I don't drive fast through the twisties any more.

Would you mind sharing what dealership you got this from? Thanks in advance.

Think "Sublime", the band, and where they are from.
package, $ 2000 cash back, and that I would be paying in full, not financing, and I had no trade in. I wanted their very best, preferred loyal VW customer price, out the door.

Louis came back with a price, I asked him to break it down for me and send it to me in an email. Printed the email out and came down with offer they made in hand and accepted it. Done in about 24 -30 hours.

I posted in the leasing thread but will add a "me too" here. White/tan SEL in NJ. $1000 out of pocket + 229/mo = $9015 total cost. 7500mi/yr. $13k(ish) buyout. No sales tax on EVs in NJ. That saves some coin.

A few annoyances (the radio reset thing, locking charge plug, car-net is flakey) but overall really like it. It's much better than I expected for what I considered a "compliance car".

I leased an early Volt and really enjoyed it. It was a great way to learn what I really required from an EV. The Volt's user interface and On-Star were considerably more refined but I enjoy driving the e-golf much more. It has quite a bit more interior space too with no engine to support and no cooling system for the batteries (also a negative, granted). Also love that it's so discreet.

Being discreet, to me, was a big factor. I don't need my car to stand out or make a political statement about "me too", or being green, or any of that nonsense. Gets me from point A to point B quietly, efficiently, and saves me some money on energy to get there and back.

Personally, I'd like a little more advertisement that I'm driving an electric vehicle. Good to show the general public that not all electric cars are "go karts" or goofy looking. Better public perception will lead to more adoption, and more charging facilities! :)

VW sells a graphic that you can plaster on the side of your car to announce to the world that your car is 100% electric: http://parts.vw.com/vwparts/index.cfm?action=accessories&makeid=35&manufacturerid=1000&catalogid=200&categoryid=40003&subcat1=0&subcat2=0&subcat3=0&subcat4=0&subcat5=0&modelid=1013&siteid=9&itemid=414234&jointvehid=19000&startyear=2015&startrow=16&partnumber=&description=&retval=%2Fvwparts%2Findex%2Ecfm%3Faction%3Daccessories%26siteid%3D9%26catalogid%3D200

A few weeks back I attended the National Drive Electric event in Woodland Hills. I drive up to the parking lot in the eGolf, and the event marshal told me to park it over with the ICEVs

When even plug-in car enthusiasts don't recognize your car as a BEV, then you know you're under the radar :)

I thought I was under the radar, until tonight, driving back late from Santa Barbara, I got buzzed by another month old white TDI Golf, still had dealer plates on it. The LED's DRLS and bluish tint headlight LED's must have really stuck out, cause he got back behind me and started flashing me with his brights. I did not pull over.

So, the DRL LED's in the "C" shape are a signature mark of the E-Golf.
