Correction: "MY WINDOW sticker says 7 hours"
I couldn't find my window sticker. It's either in the car or I left it at the dealer.

Hopefully I find it, though, I don't want to be left on the side of the road when the gravy train leaves :D

I just bought a 2016 SE without the Quick Charge Package. The window sticker (which I kept) does say 3.7 hours.

That's a DOT error... it's in the DOT specifications, not VW specifications. You will be looking at 7 to 8 hours of charging time with a 3.6kwh charger on board. The 2015's were all upgraded 7.2kwh spec chargers onboard with the DC quick charger feature, one of the reasons even the 2015 limited edition was $4500 more than the SE edition of 2016.

Based on your posts, it looks like you did your homework, and the 3.6 kwh charger is more than adequate, time wise, for your driving patterns.

You have a very low VIN number 900599 for 2016 production. Probably built in June or July of 2015.

Congratulations on your new e-Golf, did you lease or buy it? Take the time to read the Owners Manual, it's full of good tips on how to operate your new to you e-Golf. I think you will find, if this is your first german car, that there is an adaptation period for the new owner to adapt to the strange new beast they are operating. Humans are very adaptive. Give it some time, your new to you car, to learn about and understand it's designs and some of it's foibles. Like always having the fan turn on in the morning and the temperature set to 72F, and how to turn it off or change the temp, or use the seat heater instead, to increase battery range of driving. You are going to find out it has a very small amount of potential energy, range wise, and that everything electric on the car will compete against each other in eating up what range the car has on a single battery charge.

Enjoy and enjoy learning!

Yes the 3.6 charger is definitely good enough for me. I was simply pointing out the error in the window sticker which should be fixed if it hasn't already been.

Very happy with the purchase so far - heated seats are nice and warm and use little energy.

Yuuuuuuuup. So, anyone wanting to sue for this mistake is going to have to sue the Federal Government.

Good luck with that

EPA/DOT probably approved one set of data and VW didn't submit revised information, so that same graphic panel goes on every e-Golf window sticker. Based on their effort putting together the 2015 e-Golf manual, this doesn't surprise me at all.

24kw battery, and a 3.6 kwh charger.... do the math... with losses and top charging, something is off if you use a test of reasonableness.

Everyone keep it simple...if it shows that you have purchased the dc fast charge option (2016 se trim) you have the 7.2 kw onboard charger and dc fast charge optional port.
Although under technologies it shows 3.6 kw charger, again if you have the dc fast charge option you have the 7.2. It shows 3.6 under tech because that is standard, but again if you have the dc fast option it over-rides that and you have the 7.2 kw charger because you have upgraded.

If you have the basic 3.6 charger I don't know the exact numbers but it will take about double the time to charge on a level 2 charging station.

If you have the 7.2, for every 10 minutes at a level 2 charging station you will get approximately 5 miles for every 10 minutes charging.

Which is why, if you don't have CCS, or the 7.2kw charger on board option, it will be 5 miles for every 20 minutes of recharging. And it will be slower still at most public outlets, which provide 208V, instead of 240V, like you would get at home. About 18% slower still.
