Hi All - New to this forum, and glad I found it before I went shopping!
Bizzle, thanks for that excellent summary of the leasing process. I usually purchase new cars, but given the developing state of EV technology I wanted to be able to take advantage in 3 years, so this is my first lease. The info you provided was very helpful in negotiating a lease, especially the advice about zero down in case something happens to the car.
I'm in the Worcester, Massachusetts area and there's not a lot of inventory, but I managed to find the car I wanted for what I think is a decent price. It's a 2015 SEL, 3-year, 36k miles, $0 down, for $310/mo (including all fees, sales tax, gap coverage.....etc, and even EV license plates).
After the State rebate of $2,500 (~ $70/mo) that brings it to $240/mo. And when I include my fuel savings of about $80/mo (even at $1.80/gal, the current price), it'll now effectively cost me $160/mo to drive this car. Plus, the ride will be a lot more fun!
Hope to take delivery this week.
