Traffic monitor on GPS

My Egolf ( 2018 in Canada without CarNet), now when I use the GPS, it display traffic condition ( color) on highway .
That has happened from about a month ago till now.
Any one in Canada got it or notice about it?.

I have the traffic info as well and in Canada. It is broadcasted in the radio signal from most radio stations along with the RDS information. You will see TMC (traffic message channel) displayed on the stations that broadcast it. I was initially surprised by it as well.

The signal comes from SiriusXM. It can be purchased for an additional monthly fee of $5(?)/month. Sometimes it can be activated via trial.

It's rarely accurate to the precision of what you can get via App-Connect.
