One month into my lease and I'm already seeing swirl scratches. May have happened when the dealer detailed it before handing the car over to me. I sure as hell didn't notice it at the time.

Anyone else experiencing this? The material seems to be plastic with gloss. Will some wax help? I don't want to damage it more.

I would start with a nice wax and see if that helps. If it doesn't you could get a plastic swirl mark remover, and carefully try that. Removing swirls from gloss black plastic can take time, and it's easy to make it worse if you aren't careful.

Many dealers use automated car washes and that's likely where the swirls came from.

This, hand wash if you don't want swirls. Seperate buckets, soapy water bucket and rinse bucket for the mitten, to keep your soapy water clean.
