Hi all - Covid closed my office, so I don't really need my car for commuting anymore. Going to drive my old beater Volvo instead for the limited driving I actually do. So the 2016 e-Golf is for sale! We'll still have my wife's 2019 if I need my EV fix. The 2016 has 31k miles.

Price lowered to $10,500 FIRM. If nobody buys it this week I'll sell to a guy who lowballed me at $10,000.

It's in good shape overall and has the H&R Sport (28843-11) performance lowering springs and superlight Konig wheels with 225/50/16 Sumitomo HTR tires. The handling difference compared to stock is night and day! Still gets 60-90 miles on a full charge depending on weather and HVAC use. It has two minor dings on the drivers side but otherwise the paint and body are pristine. Inside and outside both in 8/10 condition. Comes standard with Apple CarPlay and everything works. I am second owner. No accidents. I recently flushed the brake fluid. It does not have DAP and it does not have the optional fast charger.

So far two dealers have contacted me about buying it. That seems a little odd. I have noticed that the dealers are advertising this car for a lot more (~$15-17k) than private parties ($~11-14k). Seems more than the usual dealer markup.

I think dealers are seeing 2016 car with low miles, must be worth big dollars, and don't realize how cheap you can get these cars brand new vs the MSRP.
 
Yeah, the prices are weird. I really considered trying to find another 2019 or 2020 if I could've gotten the $10-12k off MSRP from the dealer and qualified for all the Fed and CA rebates like my wife's 2019. The actual cost of that car ended up being only ~$13k! But that also assumes you qualify for every rebate available, which most people probably don't.
 
We traded in our 2016 SE (no DCFC) back in February which had around 37k miles and only got $9500 trade-in from Sunnyvale. I'm sure it went to auction and got $12k easy. In hindsight I should have just sold on the open market but was on a time crunch due to the rebates.

Ironically, both me and my wife's offices closed 2 weeks later and we really have no need for our EVs right now. They may be on the market by end of year.
 
Surprisingly, I have not had much interest in this car since the first couple days after I listed it. Spread the word and give me an offer, I'm motivated to sell!
