Here are the differences I am aware of between the SE and the SEL models for 2016:

SE vs SEL:
- Halogen vs LED headlights
- Cloth vs leatherette seats
- No parking sensor vs parking sensor
- 6.5" touch screen infotainment system vs 8" screen
- No navigation vs navigation
- DC fast charge is an option vs DC fast charge standard
- Resistive vs Heat pump? (not sure about this one)

Both models come with back-up camera, app connect and car net as standard.

Can you guys let me know if I have this right?

leather steering wheel, multfunction steering wheel with cruise control. Go to VW website and pull them up side by side for a comparison. Or go down to your dealership and get an e-Golf brochure, and look near the back of the booklet.

The thing I'm most curious about if there is a difference in how the cabin is heated is if there's a difference in how the cabin is cooled.

I think it was the early Leafs that only had resistive heating and they were more efficient on cooling than their heat-pump siblings due to having a dedicated A/C unit.

Charger is twice as fast on SEL
Unless you get the SE with 7.2 kw charger package with DC fast charging option on the SE, about $1500 - 1600. About $31,500 MSRP.
