I just got my 20k service and was also surprised to see that it was free. They gave me an estimate for about $100, but then when it was done it turned out to be free. So it seems like (as usual with the eGolf), they don't really know what's going on.

That's not normal. Could be something as simple as a leaf stuck in your tire or something.. but I'd definitely poke around to see where it's coming from. If you can't find it, maybe take it to the dealership.

In the settings menu on the infotainment system, there's an option to switch the direction of the rear windshield wiper (that is, switch which side it "rests" on). Does anyone know why that would be useful?

Meh, I think everyone is in the same boat.. they were trained on eGolf, but nobody has experience (understandable, I suppose). Anyway, they've dealt with this issue before, so it may be worth a try. Are you able to reproduce the issue now that it's hot out though?

Yeah, so they took my car for a couple of days and a rep from VW of America came to the dealership to help them diagnose the problem. I wasn't in town so my brother picked up the car, so I'm not 100% sure what their solution was. I also am not sure if it's completely fixed because it's summer...

The piece making the noise is some mounting bracket under the hood close to the inside of the car. I'm taking the car in on Monday and they're going to have a look along with someone from VW of America.

@NeilBlanchard: Call VW of America and tell them. Everyone else got it for free. They should refund you.

I doubt that's true. When the eGolf was first released last year, my dealer mentioned that they'd be coming out with a cheaper Limited Edition version in 2015. It's not a reaction to demand. Not to mention, a car company can't build cars that quickly in reaction to demand.

Alright, I'll call today and let them know. Also, my dealer has offered to trade-in my car for a new one, for adding $10/month to my lease. I'm going to see if between talking to them and VW of America, they can just give me a new one for the same lease price.

@preilly44 any luck in getting this resolved? VW of America left a message for me because I mentioned this in a review of my service appointment. I'm going to call them back, but It'd be nice to know if you got this resolved, and if so, how.

I filed for the $3,000 at the end of December and just got my check from MD last week. It came about 2-3 weeks after my HOV sticker. I also filed for the EVSE rebate mid-January, and received a check for $900 (the max) about 3 weeks later. Thanks, Maryland!

Yeah, for me it's most likely when regen braking, but I even got it to happen when the car is stopped. It's definitely just something vibrating. I got it to happen while the technician was right there and he opened the hood and when he pressed down on certain areas, the noise would stop. When...

Yeah.. car always sets to 72 when you start it. If you recently turned the car off, it will keep your old settings, but most of the time it just sets it to 72. What's worse.. even if you used Carnet to preheat (or cool) the car, when you start it, it goes back to 72.
