You guys use the e-brake when parking?

It seems to have a regular parking pawl but I always set the parking brake before putting the car into "P" and then releasing the foot brake. Avoiding engaging the pawl makes things smoother and the car never rolls an inch. I also use the parking brake at stop lights and in drive-throughs. It's...

    Coasting

The app is obdeleven pro. I should point out that the apparent regen in D is slight but perhaps we're never truly "coasting" in a vehicle without a third pedal :P

    Coasting

Yes, I am certain the vehicle is in "D" mode. Here is what I'm taking about. Compare with the 2016 e-golf pinned at top speed:

    Coasting

Live data from the car's diagnostics shows some regen while coasting in "D". It certainly doesn't roll as far as a manual car in neutral, even one without LRR tires.

    Is there a 'play/pause' button?

on my 2016 infotainment the mute hard button (where Nav would be on an SEL) functions as pause/play

Federal tax credit - Is it dollar for dollar?

It reduces your total liability as low as $0 but won't go negative regardless of how much you overpaid or underpaid during the year. Someone who pays $6500 in federal taxes for the year will leave $1000 on the table, getting only that $6500 back.

Will an 2017 E-Golf make it??

In practice, heavy regen will correlate with lower average speed whose aero savings more than offset the ~15% inefficiency in that system. So, I vote to rely on regen. In heavy traffic, leaving the very large gap needed to avoid using any brakes or regen will increase congestion for others.

Sudden drop in range - 2015 SEL

Yes, the heater uses a lot of power. 12v battery is charged whenever the car is powered on or it's being charged. The cluster will purposefully dim at night when the headlights are off to remind you to turn them on.

VW is doubling its e-Golf electric car production

The transparent factory is much more than a factory, though, it is a flagship facility that gives tours and whose output could be seen as both symbolic and automotive. Taking a tour and watching only foreigners' cars being made might be less pleasing. Personally, I think the conversion was just...

    driving distances w/ 2017 e-Golf

The battery doesn't get all that hot. Mine stays below 30c even on fast drives as long as long as the weather is cool. I've driven 9/10ths speed (i.e. full accel and full regen) on a back road 1000 ft climb and it only picked up a few degres C over ambient. With this, I see EVs as better suited...

VW is doubling its e-Golf electric car production

Wolfsburg was the original location; Dresden was converted from Phaeton to e-golf in 2017: https://www.automotiveworld.com/news-releases/volkswagen-produce-new-e-golf-dresden/ http://www.sz-online.de/nachrichten/vom-phaeton-in-den-e-golf-3847544.html One would expect Wolfsburg production was...

French Auto website goes 329km in 2017 eGolf

mpg or mi/kWh aren't really great (or at least they're not intuitive) measures because they have diminishing returns. These all save the same amount of fuel on a given trip, surprisingly to some folks: Going from 10 to 11 MPG Going from 16.5 to 20 MPG Going from 33 to 50 MPG

    Pulse and Glide Technique

P&G, as I understand it, improves efficiency from shutting an IC engine off and minimizing the total revolutions it does (glide) and when it is running, it avoids pumping losses by being kept under load (pulse). However, the e-golf does not have an engine and its motor can not disengage. Nor...

    Estimating Battery Degradation

I am using obdeleven pro Regarding hidden degradation, the e-golf batteries tested here, for example: https://avt.inl.gov/vehicle-button/2015-volkswagen-e-golf Battery #1 lost 9.8% over 12k miles Battery #2 lost 6.8% " Battery #3 lost 7.5% " Battery #4 lost 9% " Has anyone here observed...

    Estimating Battery Degradation

The e-golf has a diagnostic parameter called "expanded battery limits" (warning: speculation follows) which may open up more battery as it ages to retain range. So then the pack could degrade even more than 30% net capacity and still deliver >70% of its rated range for warranty purposes.

Does your golf creep or not?

Creep turns off once the car exceeds 6.2 mph (10 km/h) and stays off until the accelerator is touched while under that speed.
