vw golf driver door contact switch

Is there any members here have problems with Contact switch on driver door and if yes , can you tell me whats the. price at vw dealers garage to fix it? I am actually based in Ireland but assume that prices are simmilar in any countries.

What does contact switch do? Where is it located?

Probably in the door lock , i see that cannot open driver door keyless like before , only passenger side working keyless now.
