Does anybody know if VW provides the free loaner (regular gas) for long trips a number of days a year ?

BMW has "Flexible Mobility Program" and Fiat has "ePass" owners' programs that provide the loaners when needed.

I am not aware of it. VW may issue loaners if your car is in the shop for too long for repairs, if parts are not available stateside.

Personally, I would ask for a loaner for any warranty repair that requires an overnight stay. I was offered one when my car was in for 3 days for CarNet and delayed charging, and MDI issues.

The one thing that VW offers that other don't is 100 miles towing if you run out of charge. Toyota, for example, will only tow you to a dealership. VW will tow you to your home or any charging station of your choosing. Now, I'm not saying it will be convenient to call for a tow to get yourself home, but this policy is not common among EV manufacturers.
