Start/Off button not working?

Good morning, has anyone else had trouble with the star/off button not working on the 2016 eGolf SEL? It's a "new" used car for me, 18,000 miles still under warranty. It takes 3, 4, up to 7 "presses" to get the car to turn on, or turn off.

I very rarely have needed a second push to turn on or off the car. I find that if I push at an angle (finger pad flat on button), this has happened. I then re-oriented my finger to the tip with pushing more or less vertically on the button and got a response from the button. Maybe you are just not pushing hard enough or not directing enough force vertically on the button?

Press it and hold it IN, straight down, for at least 1 to 1.5 seconds, with your foot on the brake pedal, firmly. It should work every single time, if you depress for at least 1 second.
