I have a 2019 eGolf for a little bit over a year.
I just popped out the change tray to the left of the steering wheel and the panel on the left side of the dashboard to look at the fuse box.

Then I noticed rust on the metal frame. I live in northern California, a very dry area. It is very rare to see rust on cars especially buried within the dashboard.

Is it normal? Do you think it should be looked at under warranty?

TIA.

It is not always dry in Northern CA, like when it rains. Regardless, unpainted steel tends to rust. I think it is normal.

This is common for any maker. Another place you'll easily see this is in the seat frames, underneath the upholstery.

Thanks for the input, it is just surprising to see that for a 15 months old car in area that is not even exposed to the elements.
