Hello,

For the second time now I arrived in my garage after parking overnight to find my 2015 eGolf's fan running and the interior downright hot almost 14 hours after I parked and plugged it in. It appears that the HVAC system began to run sometime overnight, even though the key fob was 75 feet away and I am confident that I shut the car off when I parked.

The first time this happened the car was not plugged in, but both the garage and my car were hot. This time I had charged it overnight and it was still plugged in (I use the 110 charger that came with the vehicle).

Has anyone else seen something similar? The charge doesn't seem to have been affected, but I am unsettled by the wasted energy!

What was the HVAC temperature set at when you shut down? What was it set at when you got up in the morning?

Go in to your vw car-net app and check the temp settings and departure settings in there to see what they are at. Do you have a "departure time" set, such that the car gets warmed up right before you leave? If so, turn departure time off. Maybe read your owners manual too on settings for pre warming cabin.

We have no idea how warm or cold it is where you live, what the ambient temperatures are.

If it really bothers you, take it down to your VW dealership and ask them to show you how to adjust the settings for prewarming, and setting charging times before departure, as well as temperatures.

As JT said, there is an option in the app / web to prewarm the car. You might have it set wrongly.
