Is there a 'play/pause' button?

Only way to pass I have found to pause/pay so far is the soft button on touch screen (on my 2017 e-golf). Is there a physical button? One alternative is to turn the stereo on or off, but that seems heavy handed.

To be fair the touch screen is good and proximity sensor works pretty well. But would like to pause without having to look at infotainment system. Checking here to see if there is some physical button.

While we are at it, is there a way to turn on the infotainment without the radio or media playing? I just want to display data or do non-audio functions.

It seems to insist on playing something. Kind of annoying that there is no setting to turn off autoplay. Someone posted a 10-minute blank track to iTunes, last I heard it's in the top 30 downloaded songs.

When I found the article below, my car was playing the exact annoying song the author mentioned!

Just put it on a FM radio station and turn the volume down. It will show the mute symbol on the center screen.

on my 2016 infotainment the mute hard button (where Nav would be on an SEL) functions as pause/play

Nice! 2017 SE does not have a mute button anywhere.
