GPS location available on CAN bus?

Since Car-net is stupidly expensive for what it is and a flaming pile of poo, I'm toying with the idea of DIYing my own for the two things I actually care about, SOC and GPS location. I figure that with a bluetooth OBD2 dongle and a small microcontroller with bluetooth and LTE connectivity, I can easily poll those data items and post them to a cloud service.

So, does anyone know if GPS location is available on CAN?

Yeah, sure, that's an option. Just hoping to be able to use what's already on-board the car.

When the car off, all the electronics ( GPS, Radio...) also off, only the security works. So you couldn't retrieve any info. out, unless you can remotely access to security, by pass, turn on the electronics .

The more general question: does anyone on this site have a CAN bus recorder or know of a site that decodes the packets?
