EVSE and data analytics

Hi everyone,

This has probably been covered before, but my search in old posts didn't really answer my questions...

I think i'm debating over 3 EVSE's...

Chargepoint Home, Juicebox Pro 40, and the Flow X5...

I work in IT as a DBA, so data analytics in "smart" EVSE's is what is really catching my eye... but I have no idea what kind of data and if its possible to export that data out in csv or xml, is possible (other than the flo, cause I have a co-worker who has one and has showed me data on his leaf).

Chargepoint is Nest compatible, but not sure as to what that really means... Also, can someone confirm if its possible to export the charging data into a spreadsheet by anyways either xml or csv? (The Flo does this very nicely)

Juicebox I've read a bunch of reviews how their app doesn't work right, needs to connected to a server (which goes down all the time). So I'm kind of worried about this one for those reasons, and again, does it provide exportable data?

Flo X5 is a bit more expensive, but made in Canada and does provide XML data, which is really nice...

Just got my ChargePoint home installed this morning. It is possible to export charging stats to an image or .csv file via the website, using filters to limit to home charger. However I can't get it to work, really looks like a website bug.

I can't comment firsthand on Nest as I have a Honeywell smart thermostat, but based on the app it sounds like it integrates in to monthly reporting so you can see specifically how much energy is going to the charger.

I know that Chris solved the OpenEVSE problem by including a separate 5V regulator that runs off of the 12V. Truthfully, I am totally uninterested in data. I just want an EVSE that works. I do follow the threads but that is all. I know people want reach out with their cell phones but why? My Bryant thermostat has an app but I have never used it. I guess I am just a Luddite.

I too did a lot of research on what EVSE to purchase before getting the car. At the very end I realized I don't need a lot bells and whistles so I got the JuiceBox Pro 40. I chose that one because it was 40 amps (my electrician installed a NEMA 14-50 outlet on a 50 amps fuse for me already) and also because everybody (mostly) in the reviews said it works as expected, no issues.
So far I've been having it for about a month and never had any issues with it. Works like a charm. It does have wifi and an app on the phone, which I found to be pretty useless, except for a history of how much you charged on every occasion

Been running my Juicebox Pro 40 now at 24 months. Flawless with my 2015 e-Golf SEL. 3 hours on 240V almost always gives me a full range recharge.
