After getting rid of our Smokewagen(TDI) from the buy-back program early this year, we bought a 2016 e-Golf SE from Portland and hauled it back to Seattle. It's been our 90% urban shuttle and works great for transporting kids to/from schools and all the other weekend activities around town. I even managed to drive it up to Vancouver BC once despite the extra time needed for level 2 charging (only one CCS DC fast charge in between and not at the mid point). Anyway, for my future reference, I am wondering if anyone knows of any certified VW mechanics in our area that can service the car. I hope VW will bring their EV and high voltage service to our state soon before my next regular service in early 2019.

I don’t recall where I read it, but did read that someone at University VW either was, or was going to be certified for e-Golf service. So maybe give them a call and report back.

I've been going to University VW for my Touareg TDI and our e-Golf service. They have at least two certified e-Golf techs and are pretty knowledgeable as they have done some major work on my car including replacing the entire electric drive assembly. I know they also have a charger in back as the last time I brought the car in for service with less than a quarter of the range remaining it was charged when I picked it up.

Thank you so much for your tip and great to know that the IS a local service department to work on the car in Seattle. University VW has been our default mechanics when we still have our Sportwagen. But they were also the one who "warned" me a year ago that if I get an e-golf from Portland and bring back to Seattle, there will be no certified service in our state. I contacted VW USA and confirmed that too. But I guess things are changing for the better. Thanks again.
