Hi all e golf owners/future owners

I'm considering buying the new e-golf because of the new amped up range, and my local dealer is advertising the e golf with 3 packages,
Base
Comfort
Premium

But I've noticed that people also talk about the SE and SEL version and im confused, is the comfort package the SE and the Premium SEL

or are they both different version of the golf and they both offer those 3 packages?
like SE has Base, comfort, premium
and the SEL has base, comfort, premium

I only see on my dealers price list E-golf - price per package and nothing about SE or SEL

Thanks

There is no such thing as Base/Comfort/ Premium. Might be a way to sell you unneeded stuff like floor mats or window tinting.

SE (slower charging , no Cruise control, regular seats) SE DCFC (Sames as SE with Fast Charging) SEL (Fast Charging, Cruise Control, premium seats)
And the longer range isn't out yet, wait a year for those. (And pay a LOT more for one)

Always go to http://ev-vin.blogspot.com/ to see what the best lease deals are out there. And use it against the dealer of your choice.

The 2017 e-Golfs with the longer 124-mile range should be out in two months in the U.S.—“by April” is what the VW folks at the L.A. Auto Show were saying back in November. I've heard that the factory in Germany started producing them in December, but I've yet to hear that there have been any European deliveries, much less in the U.S. (Canada, BTW, is expected to get the new e-Golf by this summer or fall, presumably as a 2018 model.) I'm sure there are a number of us who have been waiting patiently for the longer-range model to arrive!

First of all, what country are you in? VW uses the "S", "SE", and "SEL" designations I believe in the US only; Canadian versions use names like "Trendline", "Comfortline", and "Highline." Other countries may use different names for different trim levels.

Assuming you are in the US, the differences between the models are as follows:

SE comes with the 3.6 kW on board charger as standard; if you get the optional DCFC "quick charge" package, you also get upgraded to a faster 7.2 kW on board charger. DCFC and the 7.2 kW charger are standard on the SEL.

SE comes with a cloth interior, no controls on the steering wheel, no cruise control, no built-in navigation, and halogen headlights. SEL has the leatherette (fake leather) interior, steering wheel controls, cruise control, built-in navigation, and LED headlights.

SE uses a resistive-type heater which tends to be energy-intensive and significantly cuts into your range during cold weather. SEL uses a heat-pump system which is fairly efficient to well below freezing temps and thus doesn't affect range as much.

If you are not in the US, the differences may vary between trim levels.
