Disabling charge port lock on a 2015 SEL?

Has anyone found out a way to disable the charge port locking on a 2015 e-Golf SEL? I hate the feature, and I am dreading the day when something fails and the plug is stuck in the car. And based on posts I'm seeing around the web, it seems likely that it could happen to the 2015 model.

VW doesn't quite follow the J-1772 standard on their charging ports, so it needs that locker in there so that you don't burn the electrical contacts with the on board charger not cutting off and removing amperage before disconnecting.

Translation, leave the locker in place, it's there for a very good reason, to prevent you from arcing the contacts in the connector, because that's the way VW engineers did it.

At this time there is not a way.

Other than trading your car in for a 2016 SE
(Which doesn't have the lock at all)

Go to Harbor Freight or Home Depot and buy an L shaped tool to release the lock just in case (And put it in your glove box).
