I cant take all the credit but playing with VCDS I have confirmed several tweaks we can perform on our car. Thanks to flygteye on Vortex I used his list to work on my car and confirm. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthre...new-to-VW)&p=86033550&viewfull=1#post86033550

Do these at your own risk. If you are not familiar with VCDS do your research or take to a professional

I will work on turning off the Automatic air. If you do not have VCDS (Vagcom) there are locals in your area who have it who are willing to perform these changes generally for a small fee. These are all functions available to the car nothing which a dealer would raise an issue with. They are already programmed to your vehicle, VCDS allows you to turn them on and off. Info about VCDS can be found here: http://www.ross-tech.com/index.html

**EDIT** Just found another link. Going to store here for reference: http://vcds.greg-roberts.com/view-entries?resetfilters=0&clearordering=0&clearfilters=0

Great post!

I do own VCDS and trying to play with it as well but I've got into a problem that there''s no description files for long coding or something like that and I can see just bunch of bites but no description.

What version do you use? I was not able even connect with release 14 and was told to use Beta version (it works, but with that issues with description files).

BTW, I did try that mod about Running Day lights (those on bumper) and it did work, I have menu and can turn it on/off.

Thanks!

I'm running v14.10. What you are referring too is the long coding helper. VCDS hasn't deciphered a lot of the information in the long coding. You have to use Adaptation to edit almost all of these which is the box below coding. It opens up a drop down box.

Always copy your original code first then you can tinker and revert if there is issue. GolfMK7.com has a lot of VCDS tweaks, you can duplicate check boxes if there is something in particular you are looking for. I've found most of it to be in Adaptation though.

Glad the DRL tweak worked for you.

Oh, that's good to know. I though that Long coding is the way to do most of the stuff.
Glad I can do Adaptation. I did notice bunch of options there. Now I hope to have more free time to play with it :)

Will post if I found something helpful.

This is one I am having problems coding. Wont seem to work on mine.

Latest release version of software.

I did it and it works fine for me. Make sure you keep mirror switch pointer on passenger side, otherwise it not working. Also, I did it twice, after first time it did not keep all those changes, I may miss pressing "Do it" or something, don't know. Second attempt was successful.

Mirror returns to some original setting though, not last known position, as was described. I think some hardware updates need to be done to keep it on same position.
Really like this feature.

Like mentioned above, the mirror switch must be pointed at R (Right) for this to work. You must also go into the menu and click the check box within the stereo menu to activate it. Even though you enable you must physically turn it on the first time.

Also once its enabled, you must set the mirror position which in reverse with it activated. Then when you shift into Drive it should return to regular position. It will revert the the last adjusted positions for drive or for reverse.

Figured out what I was doing wrong. Forgot to go to 16 -Security Access and enter the 31347. Works now. Also finished up the windows comfort feature with keyfob. Only other one would be the LED, but will probably keep those.

Now, second question. On my 911, when I set this, I have to move the mirror to the position I want and save the memory. On the VW, there is no memory set. Do I just place the mirror where I want it and it will remember that position? Or is it a preset movement?

The memory is the last position. So shift to reverse and set your mirror position. It will remember that position.

It doesn't really work well. I have found it quickly loses where I set both the "R" and "D" positions, so I still have to adjust. For instance, the mirror should dip both down and in, but it only goes down regardless of where I set it. And eventually it is poorly adjusted for forward driving and I have to adjust it again.

As I understand it, swapping out the door control module for one that controls memory mirror/power folding mirrors will make it work as expected. This is likely why the feature was disabled to begin with.

Regardless, I keep it on as it does a decent job and makes parallel parking quite a bit easier.

It will not return to the last position for sure, you are correct, it returns to some standard position not that I had prior to the dip. I was reading about those modules and looks like it will help, not sure though as I will not going to do that anyway. For me it just matte to lower it a bit after a dip so I will use it as is.

I have VCDS in N Los Angeles area, if anyone wants or needs to try these mods on their E-golf... much more familiar with TDI tweaks with VCDS myself. PM me.

I can't get the reverse dip to work either.

If I put it on R and in reverse it will dip.
But it won't go back up until I put it on L or 0.

It doesn't seem to care if I put it in D or B.

Hej Bizzle.

Try to drive a few meters. Then the right mirror should move up again automatically.

Has anyone figured out how to set the hvac to keep previous setting and not default to 22C every start?

Obviously I’ve done that
I can only find adaptations for non electric golf7
When I look up with VCDS it is all in German and I’ve had no luck...

If you are looking for a solution, look around on page 2 in the tech section... I am sure the topic has been covered. you take it to the dealership and say a few key basic important words and it gets done.

I understand the dealer approach. They are a bit far and inconvenient fore me.

I have VCDS and I’d like to just disable the auto setpoint at home,

If anyone has the actual adaptations or coding that works I’d appreciate sharing that info or a link if it is available somewhere I have not looked
