I tried two DC fast chargers installed in Irvine with my 2019 e-golf... But I got failed with communication error message.. I am not sure this is known issue or issue found on my ev only...

This may be an issue with the particular stations you tried. BTCPower makes more than one type of DC Fast Charger, too. I doubt all stations of a particular model would fail to charge an e-Golf, but it is certainly possible if these are new and BTCPower is still working out the bugs....Maybe you could list the model number of the station that did not work for you? You also should report this to the network that operates the station.

This is why I charge at home with my Level 2 e-motorwerks Juicebox pro 40. Royal PIA when on the road and the unit doesn't work with my charge point or greenlots cards. Screw that. I always can get diesel with any of my credit cards... always.

Electric cars make long distance travel an uncertainty, with current PUBLIC EVSE units. It should take your credit card, just like a gas pump does, and work every single time.

Going on owning my e-Golf 4 years now this October, and the situation still isn't any better. Seems there's always problems with public EVSE units.

The gray colored BTC charging units installed by the Irvine Company at their properties are notoriously poorly maintained at both their southern California and Northern California locations. In the future, make sure to use chargers that are operated by a major charging network if you're depending on them to get somewhere.
