Battery degergation from non use

Hi,
I'm looking at buying a 2017 eGolf built in 2018 with only 840 miles
My question is do the batteries degrad from non use or very little use over the three years?
Any thoughts are appreciated

Lithium ion cells degrade with time as well as with use. The cells in a car unused for years should be in better shape than one that has been cycled hundreds or many hundreds of times over the past three years. Give the car a long drive and estimate usable capacity.
