Am I able to lock the charger in a 2016 SE?

I've read several threads about how much people hate the charger locking mechanism.

However, I can't figure out how to get my 2016 SE to lock the charger.

I live in SF and trickle charge the car overnight in my driveway. I'm concerned someone will come along and steal my cable.

As a workaround I lock the charger box in the trunk and just have the cables threading in/out of the car with the trunk closed, which can't be good for the cables long term.

So I couldn't figure it out, but would like to know if you guys figure it out. So far from some small research I found some alternatives:

The 2016 SE doesn't lock, but the 2016 SEL apparently does from posts on the board.
