Why no LED tail lights / LED illuminated door sills in US?

Look at it this way, you can't see your taillights while driving down the road :D so don't let it bother you. Honestly, I can't understand why some LED taillights are so bright. They are retina-piercing, and I'd much rather have regular non-blinding taillights than those less aesthetically...

    Noise while charging battery

Agreed. This is a normal sound. People are saying it is the pump circulating the coolant, but there is another sound which I believe has something to do with charging the 12V battery. I could totally be wrong, but it would be interesting to confirm what these sounds are, from a technical point...

    Spring-like noise when braking

Hm, my guess is maybe the brake retaining clips (which have a tiny bit of play) bouncing off the metal. It is completely normal (if that is indeed the noise). Try bringing the car to a super smooth stop, so towards the end of your stop, right before you completely stop, release the brake pedal...

    Key Fob Battery Life

I just started getting the message with a little over 12,000 miles @ 10 months. No one discussed what to do when the key battery is depleted, you can simply hold the key up next to the steering wheel base (where older keys used to plug in), and you can still start the car up in case...

    Safety Recall 93B4 2015-2016 e-Golf Unexpected Shutdown

Additional thought... I just had this done, and I looked through my Settings > System Information, and didn't see anything descriptive on the software that my ECM/ECU is running. Does anyone know how to double check the dealership's work to make certain the update is there?

    Safety Recall 93B4 2015-2016 e-Golf Unexpected Shutdown

I haven't received anything in the mail yet, but I did the VIN lookup and made the appointment thereafter.

    CarPlay intermittent outages

Yup, we had a similar issue on our Passat. The trick is to use the OEM Apple Lightning cable. If the cable is not from Apple, it'll (most likely) not work without flaws. Try it :)

    Safety Recall 93B4 2015-2016 e-Golf Unexpected Shutdown

This is Excellent news!!! I have been anxiously watching my mileage increase and just waiting for the dreaded stall-out. Great post, and everyone should certainly get this update prior to any unexpected vehicle system shutdowns.

    Which wheels assist with Regen?

A bit of a technical question :?: I am curious which wheels have the regen/recuperation devices attached. The reason I ask isn't necessarily related to me, but for those that drive in snow that use the "B" mode as a form of "engine braking"... are the rear wheels still flapping along for the...

    Yet another delayed charge question

Ha! Funny the Chargepoint rep didn't answer your q's. Anyway, I will say not to let him/her ruin your thoughts on Chargepoint because I am really happy with their service and reliability. In fact, I use their app to find their public chargers more than the plugshare app. Anyway, back to your...

Have to open door before being able to unlock charger

More importantly, does anyone know how to manually force the lock to release in case of emergency (without breaking it)? Recall BMW had some electrical issues in the 90s, and now all their crazy gizmo'd cars usually have a manual override backup in case of emergency.

Grayed out Radio button on Car Driving Data Info Screen

I definitely experienced something similar with the "Selection" soft button when in the iPod screen. It is weird. I restarted the unit and it came back into action. I have no root cause.

    Anyone moved from Nissan LEAF?

Yes, you are absolutely correct. I corrected that in my original post.

    Anyone moved from Nissan LEAF?

I'm also a Leaf to e-Golf convert. Leaf Pros: - Remembers last ECO and HVAC settings when turning the car ON/OFF - Backseat has a seat warmer, and is relatively spacious for a compact car - I didn't experience any rattles or bad fitment, but the interior uses cheaper plastics than the e-Golf...

    Cracked windshield

I noticed we do, indeed, have a defrost vent below the Windshield. Did anyone consider replacing the OEM windshield (if it cracks) with a regular VW Golf windshield (without the coils - they kind of annoy me when my catches focus on them)..?

Sleep in e-Golf with A/C on overnight idle and even charging

Well, I recently switched from a Leaf to an e-Golf, and with regards to your question about the A/C, I believe this is where the ugly little Nissan has the german e-Golf in its beak: Leaf Unplugged: - Cannot enable climate control remotely while unplugged. - CAN Leave climate control ON while...

How the Heat-Pump works in 2015 SEL

Hey forum members, my question is regarding how the heat pump operates in the 2015 SEL. I had a Nissan Leaf, and it used a metal coil-style heater to warm the cabin, and with it came a "Heat" button on the HVAC controls (similar to how we have an A/C button). This was convenient because it...

    Tire pressure?

You should first check the tire pressure ratings on the tire sidewall, THEN check the door jam. Always go by the tire sidewall rating first and foremost.
