I charge my eGolf each day from about 20 miles to full at home. I'm on TOU-1 rate with separate meter (Beta Program from SCE and ChargePoint) and my bill is about $25-$30 per month. I've used 130 kWt last month. Off peak is about $.13 and OnPeak is about $.33 for summer and $.21 for winter.

So, is anybody already had 20K service? What's the real price? Any alternatives so far? I have 19.8K miles on my 2015 e-Golf and shure don't want to pay $400 for this service. I can rotate tires, check brakes and stuff myself. Only thing I think to do is high Voltage batery and refuse all the rest.

Yea, got same message in about a year of owning my eGolf. Replaced battery and in week or so got same message... Verified that battery still has 3V of juice, not sure what's going on here. Do not do anything yet, just have spare battery handy, just in case.

I have similar set: e-Golf for urban needs and X5 Diesel for long trip and hauling. I don't use cruise and usually do 85-90 mph on freeway so my diesel has about 27-28 mpg. Still OK for 6K lbs truck. Can't be happier with both so far (well, longer range for e-Golf will make me even happier :) )!

Yea, that would be awesome! I wish they also make some swap-able units so current owners can benefit from that as well. If I could swap battery for twice bigger - I would keep my eGolf for a long time.

No, it was not unlocked. It was on employer parking spot with charger in and when I came to remove plug after it was done I've found that other driver already did it. Usually I've got nasty note about locking charger even though I always take plug out within 10-15 min after car is done. Also...

It looks like this update eliminates charger lock. I started to notice that after update charger is no longer locked after car is fully charged. It keep it locked during the process though.
