I wanted to get this fixed for my new 2017 e-Golf SE bought in Feb. The service rep in SF Bay Area immediately knew what to do and he scheduled an appointment for following Saturday. I didn't have to show the specific code etc. He was also annoyed that VW still hasn't fixed it in spite them...

Only way to pass I have found to pause/pay so far is the soft button on touch screen (on my 2017 e-golf). Is there a physical button? One alternative is to turn the stereo on or off, but that seems heavy handed. To be fair the touch screen is good and proximity sensor works pretty well. But...
