Sadly, I must sell my 2015 e-Golf SEL

I'm in the South SF Bay Area https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/5911545507.html

Departure time is ignored and starts charging immediately

I would like to thank all of you for your great input on this topic that *should* not even exist. I tried all of these things and couldn't get my delayed charging to work. What finally worked for me: Lowering the "minimum charge level" to 10%. Why the default setting is 100% is beyond me. For...

Error: Service Vehicle. Leave car in park.

Doesn't sound good and it's not a common problem as far as I know. Part of the problem is that the dealers do not have many, if any, technicians who are familiar yet with our cars. Yes, when the car is released they will send one person, usually the shop foreman, to a training session on the...

    Bike rack options?

Cutting?! No way, I wouldn't cut into my brand new car. And sitting higher is not necessarily a good thing. If it sits too high the PDC will sound off every time you put it into reverse, unless you don't have the bike rack installed of course. Look at my pics, the Curt is well stowed, it...

    Bike rack options?

So I found the roof mounted rack seemed to affect my aerodynamics and thus efficiency more than I anticipated. Unscientifically, I lost ~10% which isn't insignificant with our already limited range. I've gone with the Curt 11412 hitch / 1up USA bike rack combo. The only 'drawback' is that...

    Yes it's a four-seater but...

Good point. I didn't look. I'm still quite the newbie and learning the little nuances.

    Yes it's a four-seater but...

I have the SEL. And truth be told, I did not drive it conservatively as I was confident in the low miles to Los Altos. Lesson learned.

    Yes it's a four-seater but...

The affect of having four adults in the car is dramatic. I loaded the family into my fully charged machine and headed to dad's house for Thanksgiving dinner last night. Wife: Should we bring the charging cable? Me: Nope! We have 94 miles on the gage and dad's only 18 miles away. 18 miles later...

Have to open door before being able to unlock charger

Interesting! I need to try this.

Have to open door before being able to unlock charger

My eGolf is only two weeks old but I just checked this. I went out to the garage, car was unlocked and done charging, stood by the handle and pushed the unlock button twice. The first click woke the car up and the second one released the handle. I simply removed and stowed it. No opening of my...

Any special plates in eGolf land?

The one in the first post is mine: EGOLFIN Hoping it doesn't take "4-8 weeks"

    FOR SALE: ClipperCreek HCS-40P: SOLD

As you know, it's a bit of a chore getting our cars up n down the state. The Costco charge in Goleta was in a big shopping center so that wasn't bad. Santa Barbara might've been even nicer, though a more expensive place to shop/sightsee ;) Charged up again in SLO. Plenty of options there and...

    FOR SALE: ClipperCreek HCS-40P: SOLD

My house was built in the 70's. Addition in the 90's, but no electrical upgrade. The panel is taxed. Electrician said we need to go from 100A to 200A and my main feed is underground. Trench, line, new breakers outside, new panel, ets. Just not worth it. Or, get a 20A unit and use the drier...

    FOR SALE: ClipperCreek HCS-40P: SOLD

This unit is brand new in the box. Never used, never installed. I bought it along with my new e-Golf last week. Electrician said it won't work without fairly extensive electrical upgrades to my aging house. I paid over $600 for it. You can come pick it up in Los Gatos for $500 cash, or I'll ship...

Is an eGolf for me? Don't have 240v in garage yet...

LOL, LA kicks ass on so many levels!

Is an eGolf for me? Don't have 240v in garage yet...

    1) You will need to upgrade your panel. Period. 30-40 amp charger should be installed. 2) The current base model, the SE, doesn't support 7.2 kwh charge level. That means many, many hours to charge your car up. The SEL does support it and takes 30 minutes with DV fast but more likely, 2-4 hours...
