Does e-golf have to be coded to a new 12v battery?

I replaced my battery with a VW (Varta) AGM from the dealership and it did not require coding. Here is a useful thread: https://www.myvwegolf.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2662&start=20

Dealer Costs for 8 year/100K Warranty

I don't think it covers the charging plug in interface. In other words, the mouse trap behind the fuel door probably is not included.

How to resynchronize a new key fob ?

Unfortunately, the eGolf's utilize the latest anti-theft protocol which only authorized personnel (i.e. dealership) can access. You'll need to get it paired at the dealer. The VCDS will not help you.

Battery charge port cover (door) latch INOP and charging socket locking INOP

If another non DCFC owner could verify what I think might be by design that would be helpful. Perhaps there are no locking pins in the socket.

Battery charge port cover (door) latch INOP and charging socket locking INOP

We have the ‘16 SE Funny, yesterday visited a friend who has the same model and I verified the same behavior. That is, it latches but does not lock while the car is locked. In other words, I can disconnect the plug from the socket while the vehicle is locked. Latching means audible click...

Battery charge port cover (door) latch INOP and charging socket locking INOP

The moment that I push the black unlock button, the charging stops. In fact, this is a safety feature. So no shock worry. I have verified this every day for the last 3 years. Again the latching barb works and latches in the socket. It’s the locking pin that doesn’t.

Battery charge port cover (door) latch INOP and charging socket locking INOP

Greetings forum members. Here's an interesting story to start the weekend. Our battery charge door latch (actuator) finally gave up the ghost last week so I decided to exercise our comprehensive warranty and get it replaced today. Done deal - all is good. By the way, same thing happened on...

Heater disabled if outside air temp is 70F or higher

Correct ... I too asked my local dealership to investigate why the heater does not work in certain temps. They opened up a VTA with VW engineering and the answer came back that the heater works when outside temps are less than 70 deg F.

Level 1 charging interruption in early morning hours

Yes...have it set for 8:00 am departure. According to the SCE day usage chart, it drops the charge at about 4 am leaving range in low 100s. At 6, I charge manually until 100% which is 112 to 117 miles.

Level 1 charging interruption in early morning hours

Actually, the OEM level 1 cable is limited to 13 amps - so no more than that and I verified that with a plug in meter. I'm plugging in at the end of long wire run for a carport. Current in- rush from other electrical consumers could momentarily drop it to 100 volts. Regarding your comment...

Level 1 charging interruption in early morning hours

Ever since the SCE summer rates went into effect, our level 1 charging is interrupted in the early morning. The level 1 charging cable is continuously plugged in at both ends. I am using the delay timer to take advantage of the off-peak rates. According to SCEs website, it shows that the...
