I took mine through a car wash a few weeks ago. I had to tap the break slightly in order to shift from neutral to drive but once doing so, had no problem accelerating and leaving the car wash tunnel without having to put it in park and restart the car.

Make sure they include the proper MDI cable. My dealer provided the older style 30-pin iPod/iPhone connector which was useless to me. I had to call VW Corporate to get a free lighting connector MDI cable and was told that the dealer should have provided this upon delivery.
