    How is the range calculated

So we are told that the car has a 24.2 kw battery pack. I'm now at over 1000 miles on the car and I'm still scratching my head about why the math never pencils out. I average 4.9 miles per KW so 24.2 x 4.9 = 118 mile range. However, the after a 38 mile trip ( at 4.9 miles/kw) the car shows a...

Why can't you set the % of charge from the car screen?

It's well hidden in the app and where it makes no sense being. E-manager > Departure Time > The Setup Cog Icon in the upper right corner.

    car "started" but not "ready"

I ended up in this state by accident today, because I wanted to warm up the cabin of the car while I was getting my son into his car seat. Without getting into the car, I pressed the start button. This limbo state happens when you press the ignition without pressing the brake. It is flawed that...

    Car-net and delayed charging

Just my opinion, but the other charger will yield the same results. The pilot is a 1khz square wave 12 to -12v. This is the SAE standard. No matter which brand or model EVSE they switch to, this is what is provided. My limited knowledge of the car's internal workings is simply that the car goes...

    "Action Rejected"

Has anyone received the response "Action Rejected" when using the smartphone app to initiate climate control and/or charging? Since Departure time charging is unreliable, I've initiated charging hours after I've parked and plugging in, before bed. Every since time I've tapped on "start...

    Car-net and delayed charging

We can shoot down the Tech's W.A.G. in a heartbeat. This not only occurs with the Bosch charger, but also the provided 120v charger, the public ChargePoint chargers and virtually every EVSE. In his mind he probably thinks that an EVSE is some sort of high tech box. It boils down to this...

    CA - plate/sticker delivery time?

Funny, I put all the stickers in the exact same places. Most logical I suppose. I wonder if that's what everyone else did. BTW, I've heard that if you have no plates on but have stickers, you will get pulled over. The rationale is that if you got the stickers, you already have plates ... which...

    Carnet ruined my day

Not a day has gone by that I haven't tinkered with different settings to make it work. I had something similar happen to me, but it may or may not not be for the same reason as you. I had minimum charge set at 80% but my EVSE set to delay charging for 2 hours later. I had a departure time for...

EVSE "Chargers" with delay of start feature

Apparently VW isn't offering the Discover Media Pro Infotainment unit (required to access charging functions) on any car in the U.S. and they didn't make an exception for the E-golf. So now after the free 3 years of Carnet E-golf E-management services are up, we won't have any choice but to pay...

CCS chargers in the Los Angeles area

Same here. I think having access to a DC fast charger might come in handy in a pinch.

    Carnet ruined my day

Thanks for the reply. So my evening ended with me driving home in ECO+ mode. I didn't even know I was cutting it so close since by the time I got home, the car only have 4 miles left in range after my 38 mile commute. The power meter was at the edge of red, the battery level was well into the...

CCS chargers in the Los Angeles area

Most of them are run by NRG right? Did you pay the $5 and sign up for their network?

    CA - plate/sticker delivery time?

Took 2 weeks to get the plates, which were actually sent from the dealer. Then 3 weeks from mailing of application to get the CAV sticker. The white sticker turned me into some sort of EcoSnob. I look down at the Priuses and Volts with their green stickers as if they are lower on the pecking...

EVSE "Chargers" with delay of start feature

Hopefully we can figure this out. As far as I can tell, if departure times are disabled, the car will eventually go into sleep mode if you are plugged in but the EVSE isn't providing a charge. Hours later when the EVSE is ready to provide the charge, the car does not wake up.

    Carnet ruined my day

*Warning, a bit of ranting in here* I love the car and was actually okay with Carnet up to this point. I think Discover Media is the worst Infotainment system I've used to date, but we're stuck with it. Yes Carnet is not intuitive and a person be technically Saavy to set it up right but still it...

    Former Vehicles

2011 A4 Avant. Still have it. I average 26mpg with this car unless I have a lead foot that day then it drops a lot. eGolf for daily commuting. Been an Audi/VW fan since my first VW which was a Corrado. Was ecstatic when I first heard word of the eGolf. Had been contacting the dealership for...

EVSE "Chargers" with delay of start feature

I logged into the web browser version and it shows a lot of options to control the e-golf charging including delaying to specified times. Unfortunately whenever I try to change any settings I get error messages. So the features are there but I can't get them to work. Long answer short: If the...

EVSE "Chargers" with delay of start feature

I bought, built and installed the OpenEVSE charger which I'm really thrilled with. One of the features that EVSE's like this and (JuiceBox) have is a realtime clock feature that will only enable charging during a user programmed window of time. The problem that I'm encountering is that the...
