Mildly amusing noise coming from the front end

I had the same experience soon after I got the car. In my case it was a helicopter from a Maple tree.

2018: Keep, upgrade, swap, or return e-Golf

My dealer tells me that I can only extend the lease six months. Bummer.

2018: Keep, upgrade, swap, or return e-Golf

My 2 year lease is up at the end of October '17. I am contemplating extending it. I have a Tesla Model 3 reservation, but it's at least one year off and I have to drive something in the meantime. Residual is 15k, which isn't bad, but I am concerned about the longevity of the battery without...

    Latest broken Car-Net update

I've found that if I set the charge current (without changing it) thay it will update properly. If it's not plugged in I can also just hit start charging. Ridiculous that the app doesn't update on its own or have an update button.

How long does the 12V stay on when parked?

I am putting together my plans for doing this right, and I'm trying to decide between a 1500 watt continuous aims pure sine wave and a 2000 watt model. The price difference is considerable, and I wonder if 2000 is just overkill as it is more than a standard 15 amp outlet. I'll have to measure...

How long does the 12V stay on when parked?

I have a modified sine wave inverter and would recommend a pure sine wave. We are still without power (estimated resortation is Monday by 11:59 pm), and because it's 17 degrees we are staying with friends, so I gave up on the refrigerator days ago. Because we lose power a lot, although...

How long does the 12V stay on when parked?

Well this is crazy. We lost power again. Our town is in a state of emergency due to high winds (recorded at 81 mph). With so many people without power it's going to be a while. We are yet again running our main refrigerator using my car and power inverter. It used ten miles (one bar on...

How long does the 12V stay on when parked?

I ran two extension cords to power lights and charge cell phones all night. Then I ran my coffee maker tbis morning. I should have used my watt meter to measure how much power I used, but I didn't think of it. I'm thinking about plugging one of my refrigerators, but I don't think my inverter...

How long does the 12V stay on when parked?

That was timely. It's windy and my power went out. Power inverter, extension cords, car on, park break on, car lights off. Works like a charm.

Thanks for doing the tests and posting the results! This thread has been infomative!

How long does the 12V stay on when parked?

Sorry, I just noticed that I missed a whole page of the thread. I guess that's what I get for reading on my phone... So was the key to not press the brakes and just turn on accessory mode, or whatever it is called, instead of starting the car as if you were to drive it?

2015 SEL not charging to 100%

I stand corrected, you're right that I can adjust charge % in the free part of the app. Unfortunately, it's already set to 100% at all locations.

2015 SEL not charging to 100%

Last week I unplugged my car in the morning and noticed that it wasn't fully charged. It should have been. Then it was fine the next couple days and I forgot about it. Then it stopped charging at 7/8th two consecutive days. It resumes charging if I wake the car up, but I'm not sure why the...

How long does the 12V stay on when parked?

I ran a power inverter off of my Leaf to power lights and my coffee maker during power outages. It worked great, but I could leave the car on (without sitting in the seat) and connect the hot to the 12v and other side to the DC/DC converter so it would keep the 12v charged from the traction...

    Heat pump getting louder?

As has already been said, without hearing it it's impossible to determine if it is normal; however, I will say that the heat pump does make a lot of noise when it is working hard in cold weather.

    Multiple charging plugs won't lock.

Any update on your charging issue? My e-Golf has been finicky in cold weather when the ring in the charge handle isn't flat. Sometimes I've been able to wiggle and push to get it to lock, but not always. Three years of driving a Leaf aand I never experienced anything like it.

    Temperature related changes in consumption

I live in Western New York. I had a Leaf with a resistance heater for a few years, and when temperatures dropped below freezing my range took a considerable hit, especially when I used the heat. One day that was below zero F, with the heat set at least to 70 F, I recall estimating 40 miles...

    Radio resetting more frequent

Has anyone else noticed that the radio tuning itself to the bottom of the dial at start up becoming more frequent over time or is it just me? When the car was new it happened infrequently, now it has to be 2/3 of the time I get in the car. So annoying!

    Design gripes?

How about the radio not resetting itself to static at startup. It started as an intermittent issue and now does it nearly every time I turn on the car. I cannot believe that VW told my local WV techs that it is normal operation.

    Noise while charging battery

Noticed this recently myself. Opened the hood, and the sound was coming from the coolant pump area. I wouldn't worry.
