Voltage, amps and charging at 7.2 Kwh.

I thought your usual 14-50 RV outlet provides ~240v-250v... atypical for a 14-50 208v outlet... so, I'd be worried the amperage rating would be atypical as well. Here are some plugs for 208v with amperage ratings: http://www.stayonline.com/reference-nema-straight-blade.aspx 18-50 & 18-60 are...

Voltage, amps and charging at 7.2 Kwh.

I'd e-mail or call JuiceBox & ask what their device will do at that voltage. However, you also need to know what the outlet's amperage is rated... you don't want it pulling ~35A if it is only rated to 30A or worse.

3 year free car-net for eGolf is a scam

The two products are actually different. The 6 month trial includes general "remote" features like door locking & unlocking. That will stop working after the 6 month trial ends. However, "EV" features like remote charging & setting up climate control schedules will work for that 3 year trial. A...

Is Car Net subscription mandatory for Mobile App usage?

I just got off the phone with a Car Net rep. As, vetaldj said, the 6 month trial includes "remote" things like remote door locking. The 3 year "EV" service includes starting & stopping charging, and setting up climate control schedules. I also asked if you could purchase *just* the EV features...

What is your software / hardware versions?

Just went online to look into updating the maps (since it appears I'm a little outdated), and it is costly. I don't see the eGolf listed, but a 2014 Golf update is $99 + shipping. I'm using Google Maps anyway, but combined with the poor response of the UI, it just makes the in-dash navigation...

    What VCDS cable works?

What kind of information do you get with that setup? Can you monitor how the battery is aging? Eh, it is a value proposition. I'd like to tinker, but probably not if it is going to cost me $250.

AIRBAG RECALL? HAVE YOU BEEN NOTIFIED YET?

This is the first I've heard about it. I haven't been notified. Looks like I'll be calling up the shop tomorrow.

What is your software / hardware versions?

Manufactured 10/14. Probably one of the reasons I got such a good deal... it was sitting on the lot for a long time. What are the manufacturer dates on your vehicles? 2015 Premium SEL, yes. Just recently passed 1000 miles! Looks like we've got a recall, though. Perhaps I can have them double...

What is your software / hardware versions?

Just making sure we are all running the latest software, my "System Information" (gathered by going to Menu -> Settings (gear icon) -> "System Information" at the bottom): Device part number: 5G0035876 Hardware: 014 Software: R025 Navigation Database: 5G0919866H 0020 NAR 2014/15 I wonder if...

    What VCDS cable works?

I signed up for an account to post there... however, I highly doubt they will support anything that isn't their own expensive cables. Ahh well. Perhaps I will see if I can get that information from a local dealer...

    What VCDS cable works?

I'd like to monitor the battery capacity myself, and I understand I can do that via a VCDS cable & software. I'd like to buy in, but confused on what cable & software will actually tell me that information. This cable is cheap on Amazon...

    Juice Box Pro 40

You are correct, miimura. My dryer plugs are 10-30 outlets, which are rated 240v @ 30A. JuiceBox does have adapters that convert those plugs to 14-50 outlets, which *is* dangerous if you are plugging in anything other than a derated 30A JuiceBox EVSE. Fortunately, I have nothing else to plug...

New eGolf Owner: Loving it so far! Quick questions

I'm not so worried about running the A/C while sitting, but heat. I can do a good job of keeping the car cool enough with a windshield cover & windows cracked open in the summer, but not so good keeping the cabin warm in the winter. Last time I checked, I was able to press "Start" into...

    Juice Box Pro 40

I purchased a JuiceBox 30A & just got it yesterday. I also had to order it over the phone with Dorian. Bulkier than expected, but still planning on bringing it with me to plug into dryers at family locations. Tricky dealing with the potentiometer to derate the current. No real way of telling...

New eGolf Owner: Loving it so far! Quick questions

If it were just me in the eGolf, I'd dress up and deal with it. However, I've got two young kids sitting in the back. I'm not going to make them suffer in the cold. Looks like hitting the "Start" button ahead of time, and letting the heat run while plugged in, is the free & universal solution...

    Tire pressure?

My eGolf came with tires rated to 51 PSI max (as I assume all eGolfs come with?). When checking the pressure off the lot, they were ranging from 35-40 PSI. I bumped them all up to about 45 PSI. However, I'm wondering if I can push it a little more to improve efficiency & range? What are you guys...

    October Sales

Personally, I'd like a little more advertisement that I'm driving an electric vehicle. Good to show the general public that not all electric cars are "go karts" or goofy looking. Better public perception will lead to more adoption, and more charging facilities! :)

Buyers of e-Golf. Did you pay MSRP full price?

I purchased my eGolf, particularly because I think I got a really good deal. New 2015 Premium SEL, for $26,700 "out the door" (including taxes, fees & trade in). I got $2000 for my trade in, so the SEL Premium was $28,700. Also got 0% financing for 72 months. My monthly payments will be about...

New eGolf Owner: Loving it so far! Quick questions

The point of "preconditioning" the car is so you can heat (or cool) the car while it is plugged in. Much of the drain on the battery is getting from freezing to comfortable, not maintaining a comfortable temperature. Even if I had a climate controlled garage at home (which I don't), I'll still...
