Found my battery's aging %, seems low -- or is it?

I purchased a Bluetooth OBD2 reader & am trying to find out how to gather the battery "state of health" with it. It would be great to see how the "state of health" has decreased over my eGolf's life. There are a bunch of Android apps that read OBD2 data, but none are great for electric...

Delayed Charging issue FIXED by software update TSB 2040470

Before I got my JuiceBox setup, I just plugged in the 120v charger & let it run overnight. I had plenty of charge for the day come morning. Is that not an option for you? If you already have a JuiceBox, why can't you use it? Doesn't the UL listing only affect rebates?

Not understanding details is fine. That is one of the reasons we post & read here, to help each other understand. :)

Delayed Charging issue FIXED by software update TSB 2040470

Good point, JoulseThief. Unfortunately, this morning, my eGolf didn't charge as scheduled. I woke up to see it not charging, even though the scheduled time to leave was in about 20 minutes. I tried pressing "Start Charging", but got "Request Rejected", even though it said "Ready for Charging"...

Also showing my agreement. Let's keep things civil and on topic. Trying to diagnose mental conditions over the internet is textbook trolling & I'd be nice to not see it here.

Traction battery SoC % no longer reported by new Car-Net.com

Wow, good find! That is hard to see, but there it is: 68%. Nice.

Delayed Charging issue FIXED by software update TSB 2040470

I highly recommend the JuiceBox 30A EVSE. ~$480, will do up to 7.2kW charging, down to 120v level 1 charging. Relatively portable, lots of adapters available. I've been using it for delayed charging with my eGolf, and so far I've only woke up one morning where it failed to start charging at the...

L2 ChargePoint - yellow light at the start

Was the green light pulsating? If it is solid green, that signifies a full charge. Pulsating means charging is actually happening. Yellow means it is on stand-by, waiting for either a scheduled charging event (the yellow clock icon will be lit up), or actual current from the charging equipment...

If it helps track things down, the section actually looks like this: Function call-up: sys x 1 0413 11 Start Stopp Kapitel 6 MQB 00011 Test step: Supply Test step: Vehicle selection Test step: Battery monitoring measured values /Param_MatchRecorDataIdent 12 05 /Param_RecorDataIdent...

Found my battery's aging %, seems low -- or is it?

Called my dealership & had the service lady ask the eGolf specialist. eGolf specialist said the 89% "State of Health" value is "Good" & he didn't know about the warranty question. Getting real answers on this may be harder than anticipated. Feel free to call your dealership's service tech &...

Found my battery's aging %, seems low -- or is it?

Seriously. I ran the Car-Net thing, and got a "report" which basically told me no warning indicators are being displayed on my dash. Super helpful! Awaiting e-mail reply....

Found my battery's aging %, seems low -- or is it?

Yup, I feel the same way. I looked into buying a VCDS cable, but it is very expensive to get the right one ($249+). The good news is, you can decode it if you can get a full, long diagnostic report printout from your dealership. I'm going to e-mail my local eGolf shop with the followup questions.

Found my battery's aging %, seems low -- or is it?

Brought my car into the shop yesterday to check the cabin heating system. All was fine. However, a secondary goal was to get a diagnostic log printout so I could comb through it for a capacity or "state of health" percentage on the battery. Success! On page 26 of 60, under "Battery Monitoring...

The Lie O Meter, new high?

I suppose it depends on how hot it is, and how much the A/C will be used. However, I really haven't used the A/C at all since it hasn't been warm in my time of ownership yet. Windows down will cost you in additional drag, which the Guess-O-Meter won't pre-calculate.

The Lie O Meter, new high?

I'm not sure on the details with selecting Eco+ mode, but I highly suspect it is doing more than just reducing throttle response. I recommend just putting it in "Eco" mode and driving normally. The trick to turning on the vents without drawing a bunch of power: set the temperature to "LO" (so...

The Lie O Meter, new high?

I personally like the reduced sensitivity. It is easier to drive smoothly when the pedal isn't as touchy. The "Eco" mode does a bit more like reduce the A/C, and perhaps even the heat output. I suspect you'd be able to get roughly the same result from just being careful in "Normal" mode. "Eco+"...

The Lie O Meter, new high?

The highest I've seen was 129 miles. I usually manage 4.7-5.5 mpkWh, depending on whether I'm going from or to work. I exclusively drive in "Eco" mode & "B" mode. I very rarely charge to a full battery, though... since I don't need a full charge & I like going easy on the battery.

    Cabin Heating Issues

Just got back from the shop. They said my cabin heating was operating as expected, and I had all of the latest software for my system. They said the heat will not be that hot & it is a characteristic of the vehicle. Not entirely sure how I feel about that result, but I didn't feel like pressing...

    Cabin Heating Issues

When heat wasn't coming out as expected, could you hear the heat pump running anyway? I *think* I have cold air being blown, but perhaps that is really just how warm it is suppose to get... I can hear the heat pump running, especially when sitting still. However, the air isn't very warm...
