    2019 eGolf battery management

Read your Owners Manual. VW recommends storage charge level of 50 to 60 %. That's about 1/2 to 5/8 of a tank showing on your "gas gauge"

    BTC power EVpump failure

This is why I charge at home with my Level 2 e-motorwerks Juicebox pro 40. Royal PIA when on the road and the unit doesn't work with my charge point or greenlots cards. Screw that. I always can get diesel with any of my credit cards... always. Electric cars make long distance travel an...

    Make duplicate key without receiver

I'd find out first what the cost is for a replacement Key Fob, before you even think of taking that fob into the salty brine, even with a waterproof case. Find a place to store it somewhere on the shore, instead.

bearing/axle noise while slowing on practically new car

Your car also makes a noise or a "growler" sound below 17 or 18 mph, to warn pedestrians, but that noise come from the right front of the car.

remote climate control from car-net not working

Ah, my car-net expired a year ago, no longer have access. I'm not paying a monthly fee for such access. It was pretty crappy, even when it was free for 3 years.

remote climate control from car-net not working

I'm not sure it's possible to cool down the interior while not connected to an EVSE. At least, I've never seen it mentioned in the owners manual or here on this site.

SF Bay Area: Any Interest In Full Service Spare?

I could use a spare, just in case, but I'm in north Los Angeles.

    EV Efficiency

Folks need to know and understand that what is a "full tank" on what looks like a gas gauge, and what most people around here call being "charged to 100%" is incorrect and a misnomer. A full tank on a 24.2kWh battery seems to only have at most, maybe 21.8 to 22 kWh of battery charge, and is...

    EV Efficiency

% New my 2015 SEL saw 129 miles of range. Oct 6th it will be 4 years old. Current range shows 112 to 115 miles of range, on exact same route as I was driving it when new. Not quite 24k miles on the SEL e-Golf. YMMV, but I think I've lost more than 10% in 4 years.

    2019 eGolf Prices Paid

It's common knowledge you got to do your own homework to get a good deal on an e-Golf. Gotta do the hustle yourself, for yourself, to earn the savings, yourself. You never know, you might be able to do even better than they did.

    2019 eGolf Prices Paid

My sentiments exactly, not worth it. But the LED's on my 2015 SEL are easy to drive with at night with these old eyes. There's some serious value in that, if it prevents having an accident or hitting an animal at night on the roads.

Rules using VW financing - do i need wait 3 month payoff?

Do you have any idea how much VW stiffed me on Sales tax on 3 VW TDI's that I had to return, and replace with newer cars, here in CA, where in my county sales tax is 9.5% ? I'd do the loan, and pay off almost everything shortly after the paperwork is signed, except $500 for the remaining 3...

    Accuracy of the estimated range?

There is a learning curve on it. See what your miles /kWh reading is and go off of that. Figure that you have 30 kWh of battery to work with, if you charge it full. and multiply each kWh by your miles / kWh and you'll know how much you got left, and won't have to worry about the Guess O Meter.

I'd say you did yourself good on that 2019 SEL.

    Solar Proof of Concept

Look at 24V 240 to 300 + watt solar panels. Each panel in that size is good for 1 to 1.2 to 1.3 amps at 240V. 10 to 15 or more panels should get you 12 to 20 amps at 240V, 3.6 to maybe 5 kWh charging rate. You can add inverters per panel as you add panels. You generally do need to be hooked...

    New eGolf charger error

You shouldn't just "extend the wiring" , you need to install a dedicated circuit breaker and dedicated lines for your 240V charger. That's pretty much a code electrical requirement. All EVSE units should run on their own dedicated circuit, to prevent overload, because as it is, they are...

    Cleaning the dashboard

I'd remove the sticky substance first with dawn soap and water, then rinse thoroughly, then go over it with a micro fibre cloth once the sticky substance is cleaned up and removed. My dash is in no way sticky.

    New eGolf charger error

Whats to stop you from using a more powerful EVSE unit, if you go and buy one? Do you have access to any 240V electrical outlets? A 240V 20 amp outlet would let you use a 15 amp 240 EVSE. That would give you a 3.6 kWh charge rate vs the 1.2 kWh charge rate you currently have, or 3x as fast...

    2020 e-Golf apparently announced

Selling 200 to 500 odd e-Golfs per month in all of the USA is hardly cannabalizing the rest of their ICE sales. Take a look around and tell me how many new Tiguans, Titans, Jetta's, Passats and Golf Wagons you see driving around. Secondly, VW still has a shitload of leftover used TDI's to sell...
