    Best Winter Tires Choices?

I'm sure the mileage will drop when it get colder and I'm driving in snow which I haven't done yet. I did "baby" it on the initial drive, accelerated more slowly and drove close to the speed limits 30-35 mph on back roads I normally drive 40+ where it is safe to do so. I also had it in eco which...

    Best Winter Tires Choices?

November came early here in NH. ;) I put the old Passat B5 steel rims with Hakka 5s on last week after seeing the forecast. It snowed here Sat night but the car was parked. Today I drove 60+ miles on rural roads with many hills but the roads were dry. I had it in B and eco mode. When I got...

    Best Winter Tires Choices?

I have a set of Hakka 5, from a 2000 Passat no longer on the road, mounted on steel rims. I tried them on and they clear the calipers and don't contact the fender liners. I'm planning on installing them for the winter about mid November. After that point I should have an idea how they effect...

Change in your pocket with Key Fob

One of our fobs causes the "battery replacement" message. I check the voltage on both fob batteries and the both read 2.96V with a multi-meter. Weird only one causes the message, and no change is in my pocket.

Buying an e-Golf a non pezv state (Virginia)

We live in NH and had to buy our egolf in MA. As it turns out our closest dealer is in VT and we can get it serviced there ( they didn't have any egolfs when we decided to buy ours) We bought our TDI Passat from the VT dealer so we have a decent relationship. So there is no law that I'm aware...

What's the best expected mi/kWh and speed to achieve it?

Around here there are no such things as slight sloped declines.Your basically going up or down fairly steep grades at least 50+% of the time. I tried using D and then B when needing to brake, so far it's a tossup as far as consumption is concerned. Driving in B for the short hilly trips we...

What's the best expected mi/kWh and speed to achieve it?

OK, I'll try that but we frequently need brakes due to the terrain. Leaving it in B make it a no brainer and we get up to 80 miles/charge even with the hills. So far the 110v charger has worked just fine for our needs but I'm always willing to save energy though our solar tracker produces more...

What's the best expected mi/kWh and speed to achieve it?

We've averaged 4.9mi/kwh, 29mph here in the White Mts of NH over 2.5K miles. We always drive in the B mode little traffic :D . 2015 SEL

cargo area mat and wheel question

Got one of these from Amazon ~$37 http://www.khmfg.com/quilted-cargo-cover.html Seems to fit OK On the wheel question does anyone know if 15" rims will fit correctly on an egolf? They were listed as fitting a 1.8T 2015 Golf on the rim size link with 195 65 15 tires. I have a good set...

cargo area mat and wheel question

Has anyone found a mat that covers the cargo area with the rear seats folded? We usually use our golf that way and would like to protect the back of the rear seating as well. I'm thinking ahead to winter when we put our skis/boot in. It's only 63F here today so winter can't be far away ;)...

    2015 SEL price

quick update, the 110V charger is working great for our needs. No reason for us to spend extra $$$ for a faster unit as our eGolf is usually driven once a day for ~ 40-50 miles and can recharge easily overnight.

That's quite a large system, are you running a geothermal heat pump? We just had our biggest day of production yesterday, 70+ kwh

Green car? Time to switch to green power, too!

Very cool, so is having a solar tracker system https://www.allearthrenewables.com/product/allearth-solar-products that generates all the power we use and we own it. We haven't had an electricity bill since installing one last summer. Now all our local driving is solar powered too unless we...
